I installed a 128GB micro sd card in my indoor pan and tilt camera. How do I access the recordings, can not find a playback feature. When I remove and place in the adapter to play on PC, it asks to format before viewing, and of course it is completely erased.

The SD card is formatted as Ext4 and all video clips are encrypted. They can only be read by using the Eufy app. This protects your clips from anyone viewing them. As you found out, formatting the card in a PC has erased all your data.
If you go to live view and don’t see the Playback option, just right-swipe on live view and it should show you the Playback timeline.
