i have a battery powered doorbell that i thought i could change to wired using the existing doorbell wires. i read another post on reddit that i could use a resistor between the transformer to the doorbell and then it would act as a trickle charger. yet here i am with the battery power drained to 69percent and no charging. has anyone experienced this and is there a fix?

Hi, if possible, please take some pictures of your two doorbells and post them here, especially the wire.
Uodate. The resistor did nothing. Does anyone have a priven way to wire the doorbell so that it remauns charged?
Sorry, I don’t understand. Could you please provide the pictures as I suggested above, then I will help you.
Update - i found the charging does happen as needed. The doorbell will drain to a certain percentage, then it will begin to charge. I thought adding the resistor would make it a continuous charge but it does not. So far so good. If i remember i will provide pictures of the work i did.
