I just installed s340 with solar panels. How much sun light does this need everyday for it to keep running? What happens if it’s cloudy for 3 days in a row with no direct sun light
Here in the UK, not so great, unless south facing and in a low footfall area. That said, with a full charge it’s pretty good!
If the battery gets really low the panel won’t be able to get it back to 100% it will maintain a level but not to full capacity. Maybe if you turned the camera off so it’s not using power it might but I have never tested that theory. I have several cameras that if it gets too 85% overnight and in direct sunlight during the day they get back to 100% but one that gets a lot of night wildlife activity that is unfortunately shaded (until winter) I have to manually charge every other week.
My camera triggers constantly and I haven’t had an issue with cloudy days. Just test it out and if the battery drains too quickly you can adjust your settings for floodlight or recording duration to help mitigate the battery usage
