I want alerts to my phone when someone presses the door bell but don’t want an alert from my camera when they walk or drive past these are separate units a doorbell and a camera how do I set the app up to do that as my camera sends an alert everytime someone passes
Disable the camera’s motion detection feature ![]()
It won’t record anything then
To stop receiving alerts from your camera when people just walk or drive by, while keeping your doorbell notifications active, you generally need to adjust the Motion Detection settings specifically for that camera within the eufySecurity app.
Here is how you can typically fix this:
- Adjust Motion Detection Sensitivity/Zones
• Open the eufySecurity app and tap on your Camera (not the doorbell).
• Go to Camera Settings (usually the gear icon).
• Look for Motion Detection or Motion Settings.
• Activity Zones: This is the most effective fix. Define a zone that covers your porch or walkway but excludes the street or sidewalk where cars and passersby are detected.
• Sensitivity: If you don’t use zones, try lowering the sensitivity level. High sensitivity often triggers alerts for movement further away, like street traffic. - Refine Motion Detection Type
• In the same Motion Detection menu, check if you have AI Detection or Human Detection enabled.
• If you have “All Motion” selected, the camera will alert you for any movement (including cars or swaying trees).
• Switching it to Human Detection (and setting it to “Human Only”) will filter out vehicles and often reduce false alerts from people who are just passing by quickly in the background. - Check Notification Settings
• Ensure that you are editing the settings for the Camera specifically and not the Doorbell.
• If you want to keep the recording but just silence the alerts, you can sometimes toggle off Push Notifications within the Camera settings while leaving “Motion Detection” turned on for recording purposes.
