I have two of these on two different locations (therefore networks). Any action I see during the current day I can review. If I select a day before today and select any action, it plays the same single clip. I’ve formatted the card, reduced the saving quality to 1080, but there’s no change, it just won’t play the correct clip. In one camera there’s a 32GB card, the other a 128GB card. Both are class 10. Using the iPhone app. Bother cameras’ firmware is up to date. I believe this is an app issue. Has anyone had the same issue. For me this means these cameras are not fit for purpose… maybe why they were £21 each.
You don’t mention if your cards are on the white list. I have had similar strange occurences when using cards not on the white list. Even when the cards are formatted to the specs required to get on the whitelist using an external partitioning program and a PC, they still glitch. Switched to SanDisk 128 (on the white list) and have not had any more problems. Everything works all the time. However, on last c220 I got (03/2025) had to do about 8 hard resets + add again to get it to recognize option settings. The camera was stuck on default settings. All this text for what it’s worth to you. By the way a c210 I purchased in 2024 worked right out of the box. C210 c220 are same except for resolution.
Hi pml9, thanks for taking the time in replying. I’m not aware of a white list for SD cards, but if there is one, then I’m after a refund as the whitelist is not specified at point of sale in the UK, then it makes it not fir for purpose. I will however try resetting both of them a number of times to see if that works. If it doesn’t work, I’ll go and get a refund. I don’t have time to mess around with technology that may or may not work. One of the cameras is used to keep an eye on an elderly relative and the ability to review past days is important.
Could very easily be a bad SD card, years ago I ordered several and somehow got counterfeit cards instead of the legitimate ones, three of 4 would not work, the 4th would only save one thing, it took some time reaching out to the manufacturer to find out that I got counterfeit cards..
I’ve tried three cards, none of which were bought at the same time, all different capacities. I doubt it’s that. If I put them into another cam I have they work fine. It’s the camera or the app. The AI thumbnail shows the correct picture of what should be playing.
To me it sounds like an app issue.
Did this just happen was it working before?
Have you tried restarting the device -through the app interface?
How about restarting your phone…
You sound like me 1 year ago. I had six cards that worked from time to time and failed in strange ways. I tested for days with cooperation from eufy support. None were on the whitelist (general/storage/local click question mark in top right corner). At one point I had 2 cameras that worked and four that had failed on cards. At that point I accepted that further testing to complete the plan I had was too much and bought SanDisk 128. All SanDisk worked 1st time every time and are now almost a year in service with no failures. My 2 working cameras with non whitelist cards failed on cards strangeness over the next 6 months. I replaced them with SanDisk. As you noted my cards failed in c210 and others but still worked in my digital camera and my PC. There’s something different about the way the eufy cameras use the card storage. I speculated it was because the cameras use some unusual direct access. I agree that it’s a camera issue. But it is easily resolved by using whitelist cards. Your point is well taken that the camera can justifiably be returned. Goodluck.
I’m on 5.8.10_19955 and my c220 works fine. It worked fine on the previous version too. Probably not app.
You can’t restart only reset (like a warm restart) inside the app. Reset inside the app removes c220 from app. I got my c220 working correctly by doing hard reset (push sync button for 13 seconds). Had to go thru hard reset multiple times before it sta5rted working right. Hard reset as I understand it is to reset like power off phone is to restart phone.
Restarting phone is a good idea. Clear app cache after restart phone.
I offer these suggestions/observations for what they are worth to you. I can only offer because I’ve been thru it. I have no real significant technical training that might justify my suggestions.
Wish you people the best in resolving the problem.
