Indoor Cam Question

Hello, I have the home base plus the keypad, outdoor cams, entry sensors, door bell, dead bolt and they all group together within my home base. So for example when I set a schedule, all those devices are on the same page. However I just got an in door cam and noticed it’s separate from the home base within my app, at least in the security section. It’s own device under the security tab and operates on its own schedule settings. Hopefully this makes sense. Is this the way it’s suppose to be or did I do something wrong? I assumed it would fall under my home base just as everything else I own. And thus would fall into the schedule etc. Just a bit confused as this is my first product that didn’t fall into line within my home base so looking for some clarification. Thanks!

@wulfekuhlefamily You’re doing everything correctly. The indoor cameras are similar to Eufy’s Floodlights, Outdoor Spotlight Wired Camera, and Solo Cams. There’s pros/cons by having these devices separate. Unfortunately, in your example it’s definitely going to be a con.

Eufy has essentially 2 separate product lines. There is one group of cameras, doorbells, sensors and keypads that are battery powered and can be managed through the homebase. This group can use Security Modes and Automations between devices.

The second group of indoor, pan & tilt, doorbells, floodlight cams don’t use the homebase architecture and are basically standalone devices that show up in the app, but cannot be managed with the other group of devices or each other. The standalone devices are all powered devices.

Eufy hasn’t done a good job of differentiating the two groups of devices so you know what you are getting. They have also promised to make the standalone devices talk to the homebase, but, like other promised features, it hasn’t happened.

Got it and helpful. I agree, seems silly to not give the option to have the powered devices talk to the HB. If your someone buying various kinds of products and wanting them to all work in tantrum, it would make sense to give that option. I’ve got the new solo cam S40 or whatever on order. If it works with HB I will use it. If it doesn’t, I’m just going to send it back for a refund. I have zero in a cam that isn’t part of my eco system.

Unfortunately, the Solo cams are just that. They don’t talk to homebase. Seems like Eufy is trying to move away from the homebase architecture with all their latest products. That’s going to piss off a lot of customers.
