is it normal to receive notification around 30 seconds later at the event, in the phone app, installed on Galaxy s25 ultra, only 1 device (doorbell S380)connected to homebase 3, with excellent internet speed.
I changed from ring doorbell based on reviews that say notifications are instant, but I’m regretting the change.
Does anybody know how to get faster notifications. every notification I get, when I open the camera, it’s too late to see who’s there. also I’m having the issue that sometimes trying to open life view in the doorbell, it won’t open and I get an error message.
Yeah, 30-second delays aren’t normal, especially with just one S380 and solid internet. I switched from Ring too and expected faster alerts. A few things that helped me:
On your Galaxy, go to app settings and set the Eufy app’s battery use to unrestricted so Android doesn’t slow it down in the background. Also make sure notification priority is set to high.
In the Eufy app under doorbell settings, check the notification type. “Most Efficient” is usually the fastest since it’s just a basic alert. “Include Thumbnail” and “Full Effect” look nicer but can slow things down a bit. Try Most Efficient and see if that helps.
30 seconds is s long time for a security notification but it might be your settings. Notifications with a thumbnail always take longer but shouldn’t be 30 seconds unless you’re WiFi is weak
Iev never experienced a 30sec delay
I have changed my notifications to text only, seemed to help me

I was getting 5 minute delays (or more!) when I upgraded my Eufy v4 Android up to v5. Not to mention many other issues (like cameras not working, problems with privacy mode, etc.). I went back to v4 and everything was good again (including speedy notifications). Hopefully the v5 issues have been fixed (I see there have been a dozen or more patches), but I’m sticking with v4 for now.
