I’ve encountered a problem with two newly purchased EufyCam 2C Pro add-on cameras that are not functioning correctly in the Apple Home app. The cameras appear in the app, but live streaming is not available. Here’s a summary of the steps I’ve taken:
- Reset and Re-added Cameras & HomeBase: I have reset both the cameras and the HomeBase, re-added them to the system, and ensured they are connected correctly.
- Firmware Update: I checked for and confirmed that all devices are running the latest firmware available according to the Eufy app.
- System Version Discrepancies: There is a notable difference in both the system and subsystem versions between the cameras that are working correctly and those that are not. The cameras that function as expected have a higher system version (6.0.8) and a longer subsystem version (1.5.07-20230317), while the problematic cameras have system version 3.0.5.3 and a shorter subsystem version (0.2.0.6). Screenshots of the version details for all four cameras are attached.
Symptoms:
- The two problematic cameras show up in the Home app.
- Unable to view live streams from these cameras in the Home app, though other settings can be modified.
I’ve ensured that all hardware and software components are up-to-date. Eufy doesn’t seem to have any suggestions, and sent me a new add-on camera, which does the same thing. Any assistance or suggestions on resolving this firmware inconsistency would be greatly appreciated.
