It's TV, Not Stranger Danger!

My eufy Security Indoor Cam S350, Dual Cameras, 4K UHD Security Camera with 8× Zoom, 360° Camera thinks people on the television are REAL… We always leave a television on for our three chihuahuas when we aren’t home and upon opening the app I’ll have 87 “someone spotted” notifications unless I remember to tune in to cartoons before leaving home.

Is @eufy-official working to remedy this issue?

I thoroughly appreciate every aspect of euphy’s AI/Human/Person/Pet detection but there has to be a way that the cam can recognize a flat surface (TV). If I mark it as a privacy zone, it will disable the 360° Pan/Tilt AI-tracking feature, and I want to be able to watch my pups and monitor my home when I’m not there.

Just a thought, if you dogs only need the audio put a cloth over the tv screen to stop the visual AI detecting the TV

I thought about turning off human detection while we aren’t home on the camera that the tv affects, but I would really like to not have to do that. I wish @eufy-official would be able to resolve this issue.

How about using a radio instead of a TV…

Awwwwwww… My little chi-chis need to watch TV when I’m not there! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

My thought was the same as org10. Just a thin piece of fabric…or maybe waxpaper taped over the main section of the TV or even straight across the middle could be enough to stymie the ai human recognition. On that note, can you turn human recognition off and just have pets, etc on?

Yes. I would use black speaker fabric. It’s lightweight and easy to put on and off. But it appears the dogs actually watch the TV not just listen! Maybe ask them to turn it off with the remote control when they are sleeping

Used Alexa today to play Christmas music for the dogs. We shall see how it goes. No notifications so far!

It might not work on a pan and tilt cam… but you can try blocking out the television with a privacy zone…

I had one detention from the TV too. Fortunately we don’t have it on while it’s armed.

I don’t want to have to deactivate a camera while I’m not home. I have a property manager who thinks she can let herself in any time. She’s going to shit when I install my eufy Security Smart Lock S230. HaHaHa

I think others have mentioned already but, I think your best option is to put a privacy boundary around the TV.
