Just out of curiosity, is the S340 doorbell better than the E340? I’m really not liking the battery drain in the E340. I finally purchased a mount for it, neither the backplate nor mount would allow for a consistent charge cable… Only installed it yesterday with a full battery it hasn’t picked up very many events but the battery is down to 20% in a bit over 24 hours.
Would I run into the same issue with the S340?
I don’t think there’s an S340 doorbell; S220, S330 and E340 are current.
The discharge (80% in a day) is likely abnormal so will need resetting or replacing etc. If the discharge is a one-off, maybe just double check in the notifications is a software update has recently occurred - I’ve had the same behaviour over several cameras immediately following software updates.
I have an S330 which I think is very similar to the E340. I eventually direct powered it for convenience, using an 18v power plug - though it looks like the E340 accepts a wider range of voltages (8-24v) so it might be easier to source. It doesn’t use USB for continuous power, but a normal transformer with wire ends which clamp in to the two larger screws on the back of the doorbell.
Okay, this camera was updated straight out of the box before I even used it. Battery drains with it turned off (not sure that the package camera actually turns off since it always shows an image). I’m changing batteries every 36 hours or so. And despite setting up package guard it entirely misses deliveries and most people.
