I see this too on some of my different cameras part of the video recording is missing. I can’t figure it out either

Thats easy, when he was walking down the sidewalk to the right side of the car he was out of the maximum distance to detect motion and when he entered the left side of the car he was inside the maximum distance to detect motion that’s why it picked him up. I would move the camera to be overtop the car facing out. Or try turning up the sensitivity up to max.
The motion detection is the lower part of the scene, therefore its only triggering when they hit that part. You could raise the angle up a little, to see if the triggering happens
