Long delay in Alexa alert when doorbell pressed

Begining to regret switching to Eufy. Like others, Alexa doorbell push announcements come through long after button is pressed, up to an hour. Initially issue was with doorbell push. Then it came back but then motion detected stopped working. Now 10/05/24 neither announcing without major delays. Alerts via eufy app and homebase fine.
Have Amazon sabotaged the eufy skill to gain back RING customers?

Contacted Eufy, they offered a 20% refund on the E340 doorbell.
They later advised me: Motion detected at the doorbell" feature has not been officially announced as a supported feature by us! But it worked previously. But doorbell ring announce is, but doesn’t work.

I bought this primarily for Alexa integration. Without it this is not fit for purpose.

Eufy don’t seem to care, not responding to the numerous posts on here. Contacting support is useless

Just came on here to check that I’m not the only one, but for the last week or so my Alexa alerts for my Eufy Doorbell Dual have been getting later and later. Sometimes 5 minutes later, sometimes 15-30 minutes later.
Sounds like the problems been hanging around for a few months now, despite Eufy Support saying it’s been fixed. Hope it’s fixed soon, as I’d hate to have to ditch Eufy for another make!!!

Same here for all devices 3 c210 solo cameras and 1 T8210 doorbell. Phone alerts are almost instant but since having these the Alexa notifications are hit and miss. Some do delayed they go off during the night which disturbs everyone’s sleep.

Please fix this ASAP as it’s terrible.

Facing huge delays again with eufy. Missed a very critical delivery due to a huge delay with eufy and Alexa. Unless this is fixed I’ll have to move to another brand, this has been happening on and off for a while with eufy. Just awful.

A follow up to this, I just read of a possible workaround which said to disable the Alexa skill in the Alexa app, then re-enable it. Tried this, and can confirm it makes absolutely no difference at all. Alexa alerts are still coming in 15 minutes late or more. I’ve spent a lot of money with Eufy recently, but I’m seriously thinking now of taking my business (and money) elsewhere :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:.
I just wish Eufy (Anker) would spend less time and money on the constant advertising I receive, and more time and money fixing their customers persistent problems

Missed another person at the door. It took a massive 20 minutes for alexa to alert that there was motion at the doorcam. Does no one test the software before releasing updates? Can we please have the ability to manual update our doorcams? Or roll-back? This needs an urgent fix.

Just adding my voice to this, getting the same thing. Eufy Doorbell is pressed and the Echo Show tells us there is somebody at the door and brings the camera up anywhere up to about 2 hrs after it has been pressed. Been doing it for a while now. Eufy needs to sort this.

I’ve been going mad trying to get my echo dot to play doorbell announcements (I have the S330) - it hasn’t been working for weeks.

I read that disabling and re-enabling the skill fixes it but it didn’t work for me - I tried reinstalling the Alexa app too - no luck.

I removed the doorbell and homebase devices from Alexa, did a factory reset on the echo dot and then for some reason the Eufy skill wouldn’t re-add on the phone, I got an error message saying ‘I needed to update the app’ which was nonsense. I just happened to click on the email you get from Amazon when you link a skill from my previous attempts and I added the Eufy skill via the Amazon website on my computer…now the announcements are working perfectly again (at least for now).

No idea which part of the above fixed it but let me know if this resolves it for you too.

I tried what you suggested, removed both the doorbell and Homebase 2 from Alexa, but didn’t remove the Eufy skill as I did that before and it had no effect.
Reinstalled the doorbell and Homebase 2 to the skill and made sure that announcements were set.
At first I thought it may have been fixed as it seemed to announce a couple of events straight away, however it was soon up to its usual tricks of waiting 30 minutes or so before announcing.
I may temporarily disable Alexa announcements until Eufy decide that their customers are worth listening to and fix this, and in the meantime just rely on Eufy announcements to my iPhone and Apple Watch as these seem to be working ok.

Failing that, it’ll be off to see what Ring can offer!!

Mine is still fixed - I have no idea what specifically resolved it for me.

Did you try removing the skill on your mobile but re-adding it on your computer via the amazon website?

Stick with Eufy - with Ring you are signing up for a monthly subscription and they just increase the price by 40%, who knows what price it’ll be next year.

I just switched from Ring to Eufy because of the Ring (Amazon) price increase. Ring is now charging $50 a year/$4.99 a month for one camera, when Eufy’s price is $30 a year/$2.99 a month for one camera, or $0 if I want to use the HomeBase when I’m not traveling.

But I must be one of the lucky one’s since I’m currently only experiencing a six second delay on Alexa from the E340 Doorbell connected to the HomeBase 3. But, it’s also a six second delay to receive the Eufy app’s motion notification from the E340 doorbell so it’s a Eufy delay for sure. The strange thing is, I also have Eufy S300 and a Eufy S350 cameras connected to the same HomeBase 3 and they give me almost instant motion notifications from the Eufy app and triggering Alexa Routines. One thing that I have not tried is connecting the E340 doorbell directly to my WiFi network instead of the HomeBase 3 to see if the six second delay is still there.

I contacted support and only got their standard 101 knowledge base response which makes it difficult and time consuming to support them. They don’t seem to even want to participate on these message boards that I’ve seen either. You would think that any company hosting there brand on message boards like this would participate since doing that should keep customer support request down.

Well, having done all I said above (post#29), I later decided to reset the Homebase as well. That was yesterday afternoon, and fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:it’s behaved itself since then. I’ve had several motion detection notifications that have arrived on Alexa pretty much instantly along with the mobile notifications.
It’s difficult to know what action taken actually made everything work, as it was probably a combination of several things.
I would say just try all of the things that have been suggested in the last few posts, and hopefully all will be ok. I hope this is the end of the problems, but with Eufy I won’t be holding my breath.

It’s been a couple of months now and after it got a lot better, it’s back to taking a good 5 minutes to inform me of any movement detection, although if anyone rings the doorbell it will warn instantly.
I think the problem is partly due with the time it takes to actually write the video to the storage. It doesn’t seem to want to warn of movement until it’s finished writing the data.
I’m going to play around again with the settings but I’m far from hopeful that it will make the slightest difference.
One more go before I give up completely and explore which of all the other makes will replace it!!!

Mine too now. The doorbell rings but Alexa doesn’t alert for between 5 and 10 minutes later. If I’m at the rear of the house I can’t hear the doorbell, so miss callers and couriers, the latter of which are many due to my job.

Can we have some resolution of this matter, please?

I am also having the same problem of a delay between 10-20 minutes after the doorbell is pressed until I get the notification on my Alexa devices. This is really unacceptable. Clearly the problem hasn’t been resolved.

Same problem here was thinking of other eufy products until this we need a resolution or at least a reply

I’m having the same issues. Both my floodlight cam and E340 Doorbell with long announcement delays. Thankfully I have a plug in chime and a Homebase 3 for the ringer but still annoying when you get a Alexa notification 30 minutes after the event.

Currently taking about 3 or 4 hours for notifications

I’ve just ‘upgraded’ from a 2k wired doorbell to the E340 doorbell + Homebase 3. The 2k doorbell worked really well but wanted to the homebase to add additional storage. On installation the old chime no longer works and like others have reported the Alexa alert takes well over an hour. Feel robbed!!

July 20th 2024. Had a problem like this in and off for months. Mostly an hour or more delays. I don’t think Eufy are reading these as I’ve seen posts back to 2021and it’s still the same. Not impressed Eufy!!
