Long delay in Alexa alert when doorbell pressed

The problem is back for me too, and worse than ever.

Had echo notifications at 02:05 and 06:40 this morning, waking up the whole house. The doorbell was last pressed at 18:55 yesterday. So that’s a 12 hour delay almost. Not impressed at all. Sort it out @Community-Team @eufy-official

Not sure if it’s due to the recent prime day and increased onboarding of new devices but my Alexa alerts are now taking 4-5hrs to come through

Same here everyone, disabled announcements as they are taking 6-7 hours to come through, can we have a fix please Eufy!

Same problem here with delays, and last night I was receiving notifications every hour telling me someone was at the doorbell - there wasn’t!

Yh same issue for me. I think you might be onto something with a surge in API request maybe.

massive delays for me to of up to 7 hours at last count but none at all the last two days. have a ticket raised for it but no response other than the usual send us pictures of invoices for purchases etc…

I have escalated again with Eufy… Please anyone with issues call them as they were ‘totally unaware’ of any issues so the more the merrier

Same problem here - started about 2 weeks ago.
My Wife is hard of hearing and has missed a couple of parcel drops because the Alexa notifications are not instant any more.
Done all the resets and software checks but still not working.
Not happy…

+1 - same problem :frowning:

We had this problem a few months ago. Eufy said they fixed it but it has been back for the last few days. Can Eufy please get a permanent fix to this really annoying bug.

@Community-Team @eufy-official as above this has started happening again over the last week… very very annoying. Yesterday it was delayed by 12 hours and went off at 3AM waking everyone in the house up!!!
Please get this resolved permanently!

I have also been experiencing delayed motion detection and doorbell rings from my dual door cam. This morning it went off at 4 am, nearly 11 hours after the last event. I have tried deleting the device on the Amazon app and reinstalling it but with no success. Having multiple floodlit and security cameras around my property is very disappointing. I would like to see a resolution to this recurring issue that many others seem to be experiencing.

latest responses to my ticket -

"I apologize for the inconvenience caused. This is a very unusual problem. I am sorry that we have not been able to solve the issue for you yet. We will however find a solution. I kindly ask for a little bit of patience. "

"I wanted to let you know that I am currently waiting for a response from our technical team regarding your issue.

As soon as I receive an update from them, I will promptly get in touch with you to provide the necessary information and assistance."

I’m just waiting for the rediculous request to send a video in of the problem or alternatively can you send us in a screen shot… which they enevitably do… they wanted the invoices for my products and serial numbers to start of with so 13 of invoices, one ladder climb later and 13 serial numbers obtained I let them have it :frowning:

My Alexa has starting giving Eufy announcements in real time again after suffering from this problem. I did contact Eufy technical support who suggested the following but I did none of these as it started working again.

  1. Check if there are any Internet connection problems and ensure that the Alexa device and Echo Show are connected to a stable network.
  2. Reboot the smart device and re-discover the device on Alexa to ensure a fresh connection.
  3. If the problem persists, consider deleting and re-linking the EufySecurity skill under your Alexa account.
  4. Confirm if the Alexa account is the same as the Amazon account and if it is the Admin account of the Eufy camera, not the sharing account.
  5. Turn down the video quality of the doorbell/camera in the EufySecurity app: Camera/Doorbell Settings > Video Quality.

I raised a ticket last week and after suffering from this problem it started working again yesterday. Support responded today saying it should be fixed and asking for confirmation. Hope this is now fixed for all of you.

An update. My issue still appears resolved. When I asked support what caused it they said this

“The issue was caused by a brief server fluctuation, please allow me to express our sincere apology again and we appreciate your understanding.”

I have started to get delays again since 1st August, reported it on the Alexa skill. I’ve have to disable it as I’m getting delays of half an hour after the doorbell ring
