No, not at all major or near- “attack” signs or body language. They were interested in the other, fenced dog, and they probably know the neighborhood. When the one ran around the corner he was probably surprised to see a human, but he stopped at a distance to bark and snarl (yes, a scary, mean warning) for a second at most and then immediately redirected attention and barking to the fenced dog…with a WAGGING tail and only a brief glance toward the cousin before running off totally disinterested. All proper “good dog” behavior. And cousin did exactly right, too. He was chill the whole time and calmly walked to the door when the dog refocused on the other excitement. So, yes, “scary loose dog encounter.” But please let’s not say “attack” because that’s the kind of thing that gets pets euthanized. I’ve dealt with dog-human and dog-dog attack behavior and that was normal, healthy dog behavior. Fault the owners of the loose dogs. And tell cousin good job. :+1:
