They sound foreign. Where is this? I think the video is clear but not sure what camera you have. Some other model camera could have captured them when they first entered the frame and zoomed in on them.
I have a E340 which captures 24/7 as it is hard wired and a Home base 3. I find this useful when my Events don’t capture the entire encounter. You can go to the exact time of the Event and see the before and after.

some work better than others

The S3 Pro has continuous recording and pre recording feature, which non of my other Eufy CCTV have. So this feature on all models would be a bonus? Main issue I have is zoom does x8 useless on reading number plates.

It’s a feature on some hardwired cameras but battery ones can’t support it as it would drain the battery very quickly.

I’ve found on NVR cameras you can only use prerecord if you set your camera to 24/7 recording as well :smirk:

Absolutely battery cameras can’t handle the power drain in busy areas even with solar panels. The S3 Pro, however, you can use a USB C cable to give it continuous power. The pre record only works on the USB power and not solar mode. My only concern is the long term impact on the battery and the shelf life of the camera.

The daylight mode and normal mode a big difference on the S3 Pro in my garden tested.

To speed up detection on the S3 Pro, try bumping your Motion Detection sensitivity up a notch and make sure your Activity Zones aren’t cutting off where they first appear on the sidewalk. For clearer shots at night, check if Maxvivid is enabled in the video settings—it’s designed to sharpen those fast-moving subjects in low light. Hopefully, that helps catch them before they even get close next time!

Yes agree, I have another S3 Pro on the street side and it is very sensitive to movement so I have been playing about with the settings and sensitivity - like wind motion setting off fake alerts. Standard night vision works fine in a good lighted area and have no issue there.
