Hi all, we recently acquire eufy pro2 2k security cam system. 2 cameras and home base. Camera mounted outside aimed at front porch and driveway. Second camera mounted inside back window, aiming out at back door and deck.
Front camera is perfect. Detects humans as advertised. Back camera, however, only detects humans for about 10 minutes after I reset settings and/or remove and reinstall back camera. It does detect, but only after resetting and testing. After about 1/2 hour and not specifically testing, no human detection.
When I view the camera, I can see everything just fine - no reflections or shadows. Why doesn’t the detection continue? I’ve checked all settings and even made the detection 75% instead of the normal 50% that works so well on the front door.
I have the same problems with my 3x EUFY 2C cams. (Bought 14days ago) Camera at the front door isn’t reliable. Resetting the homebase works for several hours. After that the detection is broken. Testing the camera with red light test works.
We need a solution via firmware. I see a lot of similar problems. EUFY?
The reason your back camera doesn’t work is it uses PIR detection and IR doesn’t work through glass. The IR detector needs unobstructed view to pickup motion before the AI can decide what the object is.
You can test this yourself by swapping cameras and seeing if the problem changes with location.
Thanks, both cam’s are outside and have unobstructed view. Results are not similar. They should be.
Also if testing mode with red ligth all is ok. Detection works fine. After changing to standard setting (optimum batt life) no events and alerts are created.
If set to another power setting the cam at the frontdoor sees every event. This only drains the battery. Annoying,…
Thanks so much, preset. I hadn’t thought of that but it makes perfect sense. Would have been nice if owners manual had told us that, but I’m easy to get along with and I love our new system, so eufy still gets a 5 star rating in our book.
