Problem with Eufy cam (indoor) not saving video but able to detect and track motion. Was recording to micro-sd memory card prior fine. Stopped recording anywhere after connecting with my new homebase 3. Have rebooted both devices. Can watch video live without difficulty. Strong wifi signal. Any suggestions?
A couple of things to check:
- Recording Location Change
- Once you connect the Indoor Cam E220 to the HomeBase 3, the camera no longer records to the micro-SD card inside the camera. Instead, all clips are saved directly to the HomeBase 3’s internal storage (or attached hard drive if you’ve added one).
- That’s why you’re not seeing anything on the SD card anymore.
- Check HomeBase 3 Storage
- Open the Eufy Security app → Storage → HomeBase 3. Make sure storage has been set up and initialised. If you haven’t added a drive yet, the HomeBase has built-in memory (16GB, expandable).
- If you have added your own drive, ensure it’s formatted in the app.
- Recording Settings
- Go into your camera settings in the app → Recording and confirm that “Record Video” is turned on for motion events.
- Also check the Power Manager settings — if it’s set to “Optimal Battery Life,” recordings may be restricted.
- Test
- Trigger a motion event and then check the Events tab in the app. If the HomeBase storage is configured, the clip should appear there instead of on the camera’s SD card.
So, in short: after adding the E220 to HomeBase 3, it won’t use its micro-SD anymore — everything goes through the HomeBase.
Hi, also in the cameras settings make sure you’ve gone through the edge connect settings.
Make sure the HomeBase 3 and indoor cams firmware is up to date also, do not remove the SD card from the camera.
I
have had this before , had to delete the recording to fix
Was it a few nights ago, we got a notification of the stray on the deck of another camera & saw in the still that she was but the video wasn’t saved. But we only have the homebase 2.
Fixed it by resetting the homebase and setting it all back up again. Hopefully does not continue to happen.
Ohh
A possible reason the Eufy indoor cam is no longer saving video after being connected to the new HomeBase 3 could be a change in storage or recording settings, as HomeBase integration may override the camera’s previous micro-SD recording configuration. Even though motion detection and live view are working properly, the system might now be set to record only to the HomeBase or require the camera to be reassigned as a storage device within the Eufy Security app. It’s worth checking whether the micro-SD card is still recognized, re-enabling local recording, or temporarily removing the camera from HomeBase 3 to see if recording resumes. Updating firmware on both devices or reformatting the SD card through the app can also help resolve compatibility issues, and once everything is synced correctly, your setup should be back to working smoothly—just like finding a new nail design that suddenly pulls your whole look together.
