Eufy offers a top-tier, subscription-free AI system, but it requires some fine-tuning.
The Pros:
BionicMind AI: The facial recognition is excellent. Once you tag a person, the app sends specific alerts like “Marc is at the door” instead of generic motion pings.
Smart Filtering: The AI is great at distinguishing humans from pets or swaying trees, which drastically cuts down on annoying false alarms.
Speed: Since processing happens locally on the HomeBase, notifications are nearly instant.
The Cons:
Detection Lag: Sometimes the camera “wakes up” a second too late, catching only the back of someone moving quickly.
Range Limits: Motion triggers are most reliable within 25 feet. Beyond that, the AI can hesitate to categorize the movement.
Sensitivity: You’ll likely need to bump the sensitivity to level 4 or 5 to ensure it never misses a visitor.
Verdict: Great for privacy and smart alerts, provided you spend a few minutes dialing in your activity zones.
