Recently instal

Recently installed some cameras, having connection issues either failing or incredibly slow to connect, I’d like to rule out WiFi connection by installing a WiFi extender, what is everybody using to do this task? Thanks in advance team.

Is there a HomeBase in this setup?

Try connecting close to the Wi-Fi to start with then put em where you want em

Thats what I did, connected first then installation.

What does the Wi-Fi signal strength show for each individual camera?

I use this one in the UK - TP-Link RE315 AC1200Mbps WiFi Extender Booster Dual Band. It does the job and reasonable price. I have a HomeBase 3 which works well for all of my camera, bar one, so I use this extender for that one

First, check the basics: make sure the router isn’t stuck in a corner, cupboard, or behind a TV. Even moving it higher or more central can make a big difference.

Second, call their internet provider and ask them to test the line and Wi-Fi signal. They can often see if there’s a problem, update the modem/router, or send a tech out to improve coverage. A lot of slow or failing connections come from weak or badly placed routers.

Third, only then look at a Wi-Fi solution. If the house is big or the cameras are far away, a mesh system (like TP-Link Deco, Google Nest, Eero, etc.) is way better than a cheap extender. Extenders can work, but they often cut speed and cause dropouts.

So in short: check router placement → call ISP to fix/upgrade signal → if needed, move to a mesh system rather than just a basic extender
