Replacing a wired CCTV system

Hello. I help look after a building. It has an older CCTV system. It uses 3 wired CCTV cameras and the image quality isn’t great.
Two cameras cover entrance doors and are sited indoors looking out.
Visitors are looking away from the camera when using the intercom and the class doors have stuff on them.
The existing intercom probably needs to stay as it’s linked to the door lock (the button unlocks the door that is being spoken to). This make Video door bells unsuitable.

I am wondering if battery powered cameras outside on the same wall as the intercom will work better.
I have a could of questions.

Will the cameras use our existing WiFi? (One door is 100 meters away).
Is there a way of having an always on display showing 2-4 cameras? (We need a screen by the intercom. ).

We have multiple people who would need to respond, so just using phones would not work.

Hopefully someone can suggest a way to do this as Eufy battery cameras would be easy to install.

I don’t think this would be a good choice for your needs. Eufy cameras systems are basically for homeowner / small business use.
Battery cams don’t have an always on video display. The phone app is basically the only way you can use their products.

Thanks for the reply.

Perhaps you are right.

The door Cams would only need triggering when people come to the doors rather than 24/7.
The challenge would be getting a display, such as a tablet to go live / show the live feed automatically.
The other location will have power and use a powered indoor cam, so could record 24/7.

I don’t use that function, I know some of the cameras have Smart integration that “supposedly” work with homekit, Google Assistant and Alexa.
The tablet would prompt you that someone’s at the front door or motion detected then you would need to give the command to - show me the live feed.
Perhaps someone here will reply on how it actually works. I have seen some YouTube videos that go into it a bit.

In my opinion I think it would be more of a headache trying to get it all to work. Any chance that you can just replace the CCTV cams and move them to a better view location?
To me it sounds as though you need a professional install_ it may cost more, but if something doesn’t work out right you have them to fall back on too.

I agree.

Trouble is this was a professional install!

2 cameras are in the wrong place. All are low resolution.

I will take a look at the feasibility of installing wired cameras in better locations. Wireless would be much easier.
