This is my wife. She’s the best. She works hard, plays hard, is an awesome wife and fantastic Mom to our kiddo.
But no human is perfect. Sadly, she has wonderful fingers but defective fingerprints? I don’t know. I’m a geek and I’ve been buying smart locks for some time. This terrific lady can never get her fingerprints (thumb or index on both hands) to work properly long after initial registration, so much so that she’d normally just give up and use a code. Later, we did find out this may be a medical (blood) thing. Anyway, a code is better than a key but you do sometimes have to fumble around with that (put bags down, etc).
Enter the Familock S3 Max. This is a video door lock and uses your palm vein to securely identify and unlock your deadbolt. It’s smooth and very easy. There are quite a few more features I can get into another time but I wanted to show off how quick and easy this works.
Thankfully my wife’s palms aren’t defective, here’s her using the door lock like a champ. There’s a slight learning curve but it is very low, the key words are “open your palm”, my son kept cupping his, but he got it right after a few tries.
