So we recently

So we recently moved in to a new house a purchased the Eufy solo cam E30 to work in tandem with our eufy video doorbell. After we had ordered the camera we realized the oak tree in our yard is quite the sun shade for the corner where I planned to use it. Naturally my concern is if the solar power will hold up. Should I go ahead and plan to hard wire it or wing it with the solar power? I would appreciate some experienced Eufy user input if possible because this is our first Eufy device and I don’t wanna risk not having enough battery life. Thanks!

I believe you can purchase an extension cord so you can move your solar panel into a better area with sun. Ultimately, hard wiring it is going to be best, but if it is not an option, I would consider buying an extension cord.

It just so happens I went through this very same situation just last week. I was going to remove the solar panel and place it 25 ft away with an extension USB C cable to get direct sun. My cameras never got full charge and I had to reduce the sensitivity not to use the motor so much to keep the battery level higher.
What I ultimately did was buy a 25 ft plug-in extension cable (aftermarket on Amazon specific to Eufy cameras) and plugged that into my waterproof outdoor outlet. My battery’s stay charged 100% all the time. Just remember if you go that route, keep the charging block around 2 amps to match the power requirements for the camera. Good luck! :grinning:
