I hope they got bit by the dog

When looking closer you can see that the individual is actually spanking the dog on the butt. He’s not abusing the dog only correcting a behavior and he has the right to do so. Abusing would be kicking and beating the dog in vital areas.

 bad person!

Maybe he should focus on training the dog properly rather than hitting it while the dog is clearly afraid and in pain. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

This is very upsetting! You need to report him to the local animal authorities for animal abuse. The dog was clearly afraid and in pain. This guy should not own a dog, or any pet for that matter. His lack of self-control should award him some fines and maybe some jail time. Please report him! :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

What a scumbag

Proper training does not equate to abuse. It’s your personal opinion, afraid maybe of the consequence he understood was coming. Yelping out of fear for the punishment does not mean pain. Most pet owners are not professional dog trainers!

No way

I never stated that most pet owners are professional dog trainers. What’s your point? I simply said that he should train his dog or have someone train it. That way he wouldn’t struggle with the dog so much and be tempted to hit the dog. That’s just common sense.

If the dog acts up because it doesn’t know any better, it seems like that particular owner is tempted to abuse his dog, due to his lack of self-control.

I hope your not a dog owner. The dog has no idea what they may have done wrong. Hitting the dog anywhere is not training!

I did not say you did. It is common sense that most are not and that is common sense! Have you ever even owned a dog?

I have trained many dogs, from hunting to security and lap dogs. Encouraging them through positive reinforcement is always the best way. Like children they will test boundaries. There is also a dominance dynamic that owners may have to deal with. Based on one video one cannot know the whole situation, but it seems like plenty want to condemn this individual not knowing the entirety of this particular situation from one video. I understand people’s empathy but not the quickness to judge based on one video!

looks like it might be a pitbull.. so they probably will, eventually.

I wish I’d been there
