System upgraded - please remove all of the devices and add again issue

I’ve had a Homebase and a number of eufycam 2 devices for about a year. This morning the Homebase spontaneously went into set up mode and the blue light was flashing. When I tried to access any camera or the Homebase via the app, I got an error saying " System upgraded - please remove all of the devices and add again"

I was able to fix this by doing the following:

  1. remove every device including the Homebase from the app.
  2. Reboot the Homebase
  3. Add the Homebase
  4. Reboot the Homebase (adding camera did not work)
  5. Add cameras
  6. Reconfigure everything from scratch to how I like it.

This is a reasonably serious issue. It took quite a while this morning to do this. I also lost access to all of my event clips and had to reformat the media to get space back for new recordings.

Is anyone able to explain why this happened?
