Useless Only Worked properly for a week

I bought these as we had a burglary. I needed cameras as reassurance plus my insurance company insists I have cameras as a requirement of the policy since the burglary
They worked fine for the first week then stopped recording and notifying events. We followed all the advice and still they didn’t work until a few hours later when they randomly started recording events again and nortifying us.

But then the next day both cameras went offline. Done all the booting rebooting, up and down ladders etc but still they are offline 90 percent of the time. I ve only had them 3 weeks for gods sake!!!,

Please Eufy this is not good. I was wanting to purchase a doorbell too when rthey were working good (for a week!!) but so glad I didn’t now. I wish I’d bought different cameras now but thought if I paid a bit more I’d get quality. Obviously not. I’m scared I’m going to be burgled again and can’t sleep at night. I just want my cameras working

Can someone respond to this issue…it’s not good customer express!

May I ask how far these cameras are away from the homebase. I may be off and different issue, but I had a similar problem with my floodlight cam. Moved the homebase closer and bingo worked perfect after that but they dropped out constantly when it was on that borderline of being too far away

Unfortunately…. That dream of buying your security cams… sticking them where you think they should work best…. Doesn’t work very often.

Reminds me when my grandma told me to throw out the Teflon crap pans I had and get some high end stainless and cast iron pans. I did. I HATED them. They were expensive JUNK…. And then I figured out what the pans wanted from me. (Not the other way around). Now they are gold!

This is why these cam systems have a high return rate. They are a huge puzzle. ( and Eufy isn’t giving hints )

I only have a small house. Both are on the outside of the house on the exterior house walls. The hub thing is directly below one of the cameras. Approx 10ft below it. The other cam is at rthe bak of rthe house, I’d say 15ft away from the hub thing. The hub is plugged into the router by ethernet and is placed directly next to the router. I’m now reading maybe ethernet isnt best and it should be wireless. Whats everyones thoughts on that. We assumed ethernet to the hub would be best way but maybe not. Out at work now but will try this tonight as tried everything else

I don’t work for Eufy but here are a few tips I’ve found out.
-Make sure the Homebase IS connected by Ethernet.
-Don’t have the Homebase in the following places; behind TV, in a media stand, in the corner of a room, generally near other electronics like Set top boxes, in the kitchen (due to microwaves and fridges).
-Do keep the Homebase centred in the middle of the cameras locations.
-Install the cameras only 10ft off the ground.

Eufy cameras do work very well but please don’t expect the same reliability as hard wired ones. It also might be worth checking with your insurance if these Eufy cameras will be sufficient as they don’t constantly record, they rely on motion detention.

Let me know how you get on

If you waiting for Eufy support for help then you have got a very long wait because they are useless the company is only interested in sales and once they got your money you are on your own and yes I do have the full security packet installed including 3 x 2C cameras that stopped working on human only detection since 28-09-2021 firmware update so I suggest getting another manufacturers security product

Managed to fix it. Unplugged the ethernet and placed the homebase upstairs. It’s been 2 days now and seems to be working perfectly. Seems to be recording every event when we test it out. Not been offline one. Time will tell but hopefully we’ve cracked irt!!!
