We jumped in and bought 4 outdoor solar cameras, a video doorbell and a finger print lock (wifi included).
Property has a shop about 60-80 feet away from the home. (rural area) I had a very difficult time getting the first camera to sync, but waited a day (and after the CSR people sent me a return label - another story) and randomly tried again and it worked. I’ve set up all four, but notice that some do not have full “bars” of the wifi showing.
I have wondered if using a mobile hot spot may be a solid choice to provide dedicated wifi to the security cameras? As we are on Comcast, the service is less than stellar, and if the internet goes out, I’m wondering if the hot spot may provide some piece-of-mind. That is, if it would work.
Has anyone used a mobile hotspot to run their s40’s? I read somewhere that you’d need at least 10MB per month.
Any in-site would be great. Thanks!
