We caught this stray kitty, and I let him out in my basement, because he has a very tight collar on, he appears to be fixed, and has been coming around with the rest of our strays (mostly feral) that we feed and keep track of, for a couple weeks now. He is very timid and scared, and has been in strict hiding down there for the last 2 days. He hadn’t touched his food, water or litter box since then… but I caught a glimpse of the pretty little guy tonight… I need to get that collar loosened up on his neck… Praying that I can find the previous owner to return him to, or that we can make him feel safe enough to become a family member. Any advice?

A little sad. Someone is probably missing their cat hopefully they didn’t abandon it. Only thing you can do is if you can catch him is have a vet scan for a chip and take pictures to post on some local social. Good luck thank you for caring

Nice
Most of the collars are designed to open automatically if pulled or caught on something to stop the cat from being hurt. Hopefully that is the case with this shy one.
Cool
