Eufy Security developed 2 video doorbell to serve different needs and houses.
Both doorbells feature 2K video resolution, free and encrypted local storage. You could make a choice by the guidelines below:
By Installation
- If your house has existing doorbell wires at the front door and are comfortable with wiring the doorbell and chime. We recommend the wired version.
- If your house doesn’t have existing doorbell wires, or you don’t want heavy-duty installation, the battery-powered doorbell would be suitable for you.
By Specific Features
- If you need 3s pre-buffer feature, the wired doorbell is the one that supports it. This is because the wired doorbell runs in with sufficient power 24x7. It watches and keeps the latest 3s videos in memory all the time. When motion is detected, it adds the pre-buffer to the recording. The batter-powered doorbell is in standby mode most of the time. Only when its motion sensor detects an event, will the doorbell activate its camera and start recording.
- If you need to control your existing doorbell chime in your house, the battery-powered doorbell is the one. The wired doorbell doesn’t support controlling existing doorbell chime.
- If you plan to add more batter-powered cameras to cover more areas, the battery-powered doorbell is the one. It comes with a HomeBase and you can add up to 16 cameras and 34 sensors to it.
We also made a comparison chart for the specifications line-by-line comparison.
