Why does my doo

Why does my door bell camera doesn’t record events from the beginning? Also why I don’t get instantaneous notifications as the event is happening? I always get notifications after the fact. This event was from earlier today. I don’t know who this person is or why they were at my door. The event was recorded as they were leaving and I got the notification moments later after they left. I don’t think this is how security cameras should work. Could this be happening due to certain settings on my end? I didn’t modify most settings and can’t find anything which relates to this.

It could be a case of the obvious suspects. From connection to the doorbell camera, angle of the camera (uses passive IR which doesn’t handle direct forward motion well), or something as simple as the motion detector sensitivity.

It could be worth enquiring with support if you have issues beyond this.

Wifi lagg maybe try resetting your internet router? Or the distance from the doorbell to the router? My internet has been lagging recently and I have got delay notifications, may have to contact my ISP provider.

I think it’s your Wifi also. I get my notifications almost instantly and my notifications setting is with thumbnail which typically takes longer.

I have the same question

When you install the doorbell, you get the question if it must record ass long as possible. Or only the time its relevant, or not at all. Set it on long as possible because standard its on only relevant time.
Maybe it will help.

Have you already set the sensitivity to the highest level and enabled all detections, not just human ones?

Try setting the power mode to optimal recording instead of power saving.

You need to turn on the notifications in your app. Make sure you set your doorbell to pickup any motion and you can set the duration of the video as well. It will drain your battery more but if you want longer videos it’s worth it. I had my notifications on and it got annoying so I only have the important ones on.

Im here for the same reason

Check settings

Typical Eufy. Late notifications on all my camera models

Lighting is a big issue with the doorbell cams. My doorbells do the same, yours is much further away than “natural light,” than mine though. All can really do is hope for the best, unless say you want to move your door bell further out, away and into a better lit area?

It can vary on the privacy zones that you’ve set, motion sensitivity and whether it’s just human detection you’ve opted for. These can all be modified to your needs and will work effectively.

This is my attempt at earning “Best Answer” to your concerns.

I have had the same issues with my Eufy doorbells as well. However, I have been advised that there is a possible solution to this problem. Full disclosure, I have not tried this solution yet though.

Eufy sells motion sensors as well. Placing a motion sensor ahead of the doorbell at a better angle can actually help if you set it up with automation so when the motion sensor detects motion, it then triggers the doorbell to start recording. It’s supposed to make up the difference so recording starts earlier.

Another solution can also be to use a separate Eufy outdoor camera as the motion sensor, so the camera will then trigger the doorbell to start recording through automation settings.

Let us know if you resolved the issue or if you decide to try any of these options. If you find this information valuable at all, please feel free to rank my comment as “Best Answer”. Trying to earn my “Helpful Badge” with informative responses.

That was good information thanks

Notifications on and if battery saver is on for the app disable it.
