Why is there a big delay between when motion is picked up and I get a notification?
There’s always a 4.5 second delay. But I’ve heard that Eufy smart display reduces this, but I’ve never seen a youtube channel testing this
How fast you receive a notification depends on the options you chose for notification in settings. I keep mine on the setting “receive notification instantly then if thumbnail is processed quick enough show it” that way I get a notification as soon as motion is recognized and if it gets a good thumbnail it’ll also come through. if you choose a complete detailed notification you may not receive a notification until it has recorded the entire clip. I am paraphrasing so don’t be too harsh on my explanation lol let me know if you need a better description
Just like one of the others said it could be how you have your notifications setup and a few other things.
The system also has to analyze the motion to determine if it qualifies as an event or not and then classify it by the different categories.
It could be the network the system is on and how it is set up or any glitches or protocol issues with the data traffic.
You may also want to check the setting of you eufy app to see if it is allowed to run in the background and access network/mobile data, as that can delay notifications being received to the app on your phone.
