mine does the same. catches things when they are nearly 2/3 through the frame.

Luckily, nothing was on the grill—I’m pretty sure the bear was just looking for a grill brea

To be honest it could be a number of things, I’m learning from angle issue, activity zone (if you set one up) the length of time it’s set to record,the number of devices, signal issues, device interference.
The one thing that I know for certain is that some of my cams never missed a thing when I had less lol.

Yup I have similar issues I gave up trying to figure them out. Sometimes doesn’t pick things up other times it doesn’t record or if it does it gets cut off. Last night had a critter in the yard got a notification and thumbnail went to watch it this morning and video not available said either delete manually (not) or overwritten but there is lot of space available on hard drive. A video from a little earlier was there.
