Step1: The Correct Installation for Solar-Powered Cameras
To ensure that the solar camera can achieve the most effective charging, the placement position is very important. Taking countries in the Northern Hemisphere as an example, you can operate as follows:
If there are certain locations where sunlight cannot directly reach but still need to be monitored, we recommend purchasing a camera with an external solar panel.
Step2: The Correct Settings for Solar Charging
You can follow these steps to add the solar panel option:
Please carefully observe the icons on the device card on the app’s home page and confirm the current charging status based on their display. As shown below:
Step3: External Solar Panel Precautions
Firstly, Only certified eufy Security solar panels can sync with eufyCam to ensure correct power management; meanwhile, all eufyCam Models are compatible with the eufyCam Solar Panel Charger.
Since it is installed outdoors, waterproof measures are necessary. The power interface in the package is wrapped with a silicone cover, which provides effective waterproofing. However, you still need to occasionally clean the dust and snow off the solar panel and trim any surrounding plants that might block sunlight.
Please note: In winter, if there is insufficient sunlight, you need to fully charge the camera in advance to prevent it from disconnecting.
Additionally, eufy solar cameras are expected to operate normally between -20°C (-4°F) and 50°C (122°F). If the internal temperature of the camera drops to 0°C (32°F) or below, it may not be able to charge because of limitations put in place for battery safety purposes. It will automatically resume charging normally when the internal temperature once again rises above 0°C (32°F).
