3 Tips to Master Activity Zone Drawing

Setting Activity Zones is an effective way to prevent false detections by the camera. Simply open Activity Zones on the Settings page and draw the areas you care about to quickly complete the setup.

Furthermore, Activity Zones also encompass 3 practical features: Human Detection, Package Guard, and Vehicle Guard. This article will guide you through the installation and mapping aspects, helping you become a master of Activity Zones!

1.Human Detection—

Correct installation position for the Video Doorbell : Please install the Video Doorbell at a height of about 1.2-1.5 meters from the ground, and install it on the side of the door handle, otherwise, the view will be blocked when the door is opened.

Correct installation position for the front door camera: Please install the camera at a height of 2-3 meters from the ground, and tilt the camera down at about a 5-15° angle.

Correct Human Detection Activity Zone setup: When your view is facing the corridor, the Activity Zone should cover the entrance of the corridor and ensure that the height can cover the entire body of a person.

When your view is facing the street, the Activity Zone should cover the area you are most concerned about (such as your yard) and avoid busy streets, fluttering flags, swaying branches, and other irrelevant objects.

2. Package Guard—

Correct installation position for the dual-camera Video Doorbell : Please install the dual-camera Video Doorbell at a height of about 1.2-1.5 meters from the ground, and make sure to install it on the side of the door handle, otherwise, the view will be blocked when the door is opened.

Correct Package Guard Activity Zone setup: If the Package Guard area is too low, it will not cover all packages; if it is too high, it will cover too many elements and fail to accurately detect packages. Therefore, the correct approach is to cover only your porch.

3.Vehicle Guard—

Correct installation position for the camera: When the camera is installed at a distance and at an inclined angle relative to the vehicle, the Package Guard function cannot be used effectively. The correct approach is to have the camera face the front of the vehicle, placing the vehicle in a prominent position.

Correct Vehicle Guard Activity Zone setup: Once the camera is installed correctly, draw the Activity Zone to surround the vehicle, and you can use the Vehicle Guard function.

I believe the activity zones each should be able to be set for different types of triggers individually. For example, set the green zone for pet detection, while the blue zone is dedicated to detecting human and vehicle detection.

I have had little success with the zone settings so far. Camera facing the front garden and path and I set zones to cover our garden and driveway only. But it keeps triggering from people passing on the path or even cars on the road. So frustrating

Amazing

Unfortunately I had no choice but to install my doorbell on the opposite side to the door handle, due to the set up of my house. I’m actually experiencing some issues with all detection on my doorbell atm - I’ve already removed and re installed but same issue happened again, so going to try it again today! It’s so frustrating as you get so used to having it pick up when people, deliveries ect are there!

When I re install I’m going to try the zones the way that it’s recommended here….
