Anyone know why my camera seems to think the culvert is a pet? I will get 30 notifications back to back about a pet. There’s nothing there.

I wouldn’t say the camera itself but more like the AI detection that’s incorrectly marking it as a pet.
The A.I has become trash in my humble opinion
.
Is the AI specifically detecting the culvert as a pet?
Like it’s telling you it’s that?
I get recordings also of things that aren’t a pet and when I watch the video there’s an option called Mark, if you tap on that and then tap yes, it will stop detecting that same thing as a pet.
I’m not sure if all cameras have that option..

I get this once and awhile on a couple different cameras usually a shadow or my gas grill on the deck
I don’t have this option on the S340. Is this the floodlight camera E340? This has better animal tracking and looks like better options than the S340
Funny
No, it’s the wired E220 outdoor cam Pro. I think it all comes down to what information is programmed into the AI.
Looks like both the E220 and E340 have animal/pet tracking.

I have the Floodlight E340 which does not appear to have that option. While watching the “event” it has a picture below the video of the “pet” which is just the culvert. I changed a setting to have the camera rotate every 50 seconds. It has stopped, for now.

AI Misidentification (False Positives)
Most modern security cameras use AI to detect “pets,” but they rely on shape, movement, and infrared patterns. If the culvert has certain visual or thermal characteristics (like shadows, reflections, or heat differences), the AI might mistake it for an animal.
Example triggers:
Light reflections from passing cars or the sun hitting water/moisture in or near the culvert.
Moving vegetation or grass near the culvert resembling animal movement.
Debris or leaves drifting in and out.
Condensation or water vapor that appears as motion or heat.

i have a pet Eufy culvert too! I gave up in the end and just gave it a name( Benjamin) and occasionally let the grandkids feed it lettuce. Only one week into a multi-camera s380 hub system and already regretting purchase - video quality is poor, recording system is diabolical with no control over pre-trigger etc…and archiving is clumsy and unreliable. Wish i’d just bought reasonable cameras and put my own linux box together with free AI detector, a couple of PIR sensors . Disappointing so far…but no vets bills for Benjamin …yet.
