I was recently traveling and noticed that my Eufy app failed to load camera events showing the error “Fail to load video clips, please pull down to refresh”.
This was happening across multiple Android devices, I couldn’t reproduce the same issue on my iPhone.
Since the issue started when I started traveling, I decided to try changing the timezone on my Android phone. I have a Samsung, so the specifics may be different, but should be something like:
Settings → Generate Management → Date and Time → Turn of “Automatic Time Zone” → Manually set timezone to the same time zone as the time zone where your Eufy homebase is located.
After manually setting the timezone, and closing and re-opening the app. The issue went away. This seems like an app bug that is isolated to Android, from what I can tell.
I’ve tried many other things that didn’t do anything to solve the issue
- Changing wifi network
- Switching to cellular network
- Switching to another Android device (tried Pixel phone as well)
- Clear data, cache of app
- Uninstall and re-install the app
Wondering if this is a known issue or anything else has experience with this issue ?
Thought I would post my solution here in case anyone else runs into this.
If you are interested to see if this issue reproduces for you, should be easily reproducible by manually changing your phone time zone to something that doesn’t match the location of homebase, and events will stop loading.
