Camera recordings, live view, AI tracking

Hi Eufy community,

It’s the first time sharing my experience about the security devices I have at home. For the perimeter of the house I have the following:

  • 4 E330 Professional ( 2 for the front and 2 for the backyard) with homebase
  • 4 E220 (2 for each of the sidewalkways for the house)
  • 1 S330 floodlight for the garage door
  • 1 S330 Video doorbell for the main door.
  • 3 S350 Indoor cameras for the inside of the house

With that being said, I have an issue with some of my sidewalkway cameras, since these suddenly appear offline. I have checked my wifi signal, and it’s good enough.
At least I have to unplug the camera two to three times a month to have it back online.

I also have a wifi Mesh system and located the satellites close to 5 ft away but inside the house with no interference, such as TV, Microwaves, etc., from those particular cameras, but still disconnects.

One thing I notice is that when these cameras are loading (buffering) it could take 20 seconds to play live view or playback, or events.

Also, I have set up the device to connect to the closest router or satellite, my ISP speed is 400 Mbps download 40 Mbps upload.

If someone is experienced the same problems with buffering or offline issues, please advise on an alternative solution.

The issue you’re describing with the sidewalkway cameras randomly going offline and the long buffering times is usually caused by how the cameras connect to your Wi-Fi mesh system, not the internet speed itself (your 400/40 is more than enough). A few things that typically fix this:

  1. Force 2.4 GHz only – Even though your mesh is dual-band, many Eufy cameras work more reliably on 2.4 GHz. If the cameras try to jump between 2.4 and 5 GHz, they can drop offline. In your router/mesh app, set those cameras to connect only on 2.4 GHz.
  2. Adjust satellite placement – 5 ft inside the house sounds close, but walls, insulation, or even metal window frames can kill the signal. Try moving the satellite a little nearer to the outside wall where the cameras are mounted. Sometimes just shifting it a few feet makes a big difference.
  3. Give cameras fixed IPs – In your router settings, assign a static IP to each camera. This stops them from dropping offline due to DHCP lease renewals.
  4. Firmware updates – Double-check the Eufy Security app for firmware updates on both the cameras and HomeBase. Some recent updates specifically improved Wi-Fi stability.
  5. Last resort: extender or outdoor AP – If the above doesn’t solve it, a dedicated outdoor Wi-Fi extender or access point near the sidewalkway will give the cameras a rock-solid signal.

That should cut down on the need to keep unplugging them and reduce the 20-second buffering delay you’re seeing.
