Can anyone recommend the best hard drive for the Homebase 3?

Samsung 870 EVO should be a good choice.
It depends on whether you want bigger size (capacity) or higher reliability.
For a bigger size, you’d need to go with a 2.5 inch hard disk drive, I believe they go up to ~6 TB now. These run $140-300.
For reliability you’ll go for a solid state drive and those go up to 4 TB ($170-300). You can get higher capacities but those cost as much as vehicles.
More budget friendly options are 1 TB SSDs @ $40 and 2 TB SSDs @ $75. Don’t bother with HDDs at these capacities.
I would also say don’t worry too much about brands. For what you’d spend on a so-called ‘better’ brand, just get a 4 year 3rd party warranty which is much easier to deal with than a manufacturer warranty.
