Does clearing cache and memory erase recorded clips too?

Toying around with the idea of clearing app cache and memory usage to alleviate the problematic streaming and downloading processes but i don’t want to find out the wrong way that doing that will delete all the clips, even though their sizes don’t match up at all. Has anybody tried doing this? It’s taking up 7GB in cache and memory alone and it just grew 100mb within the past 24 hrs!

You’d be safe with just clearing the cache. Do not clear your user data though.

thanks for your reply, what would happen if i clear user data? it’s taking an enormous amount on the phone and was hoping that clearing it wouldn’t also erase all the clips.

While the cache can be cleared with little risk to app settings, preferences, and saved states, clearing the app data will delete/remove these entirely. Clearing data essentially reset an app to its default state: it makes your app act like when you first downloaded and installed it. Tap on Clear Storage.
You’ll probably need to log back in with your username and password then adjust settings in the app. “I don’t know since I’ve never done it with the eufy App if it removes your cameras from the app”

This is what my app is using at the moment.

Video clips that you have downloaded are stored onto your phones picture gallery. Any videos clips that you access through the eufy App are stored on an SD card or built in memory of that device / camera not on your phone.

That begs the question then, why user data on my phone takes up 7.4GB at the moment, i can’t imagine what could possibly take up so much space, surely not just the settings and log-in data? I have an SD card inserted so none of the clips should have been uploaded into the cloud, subscription for which i don’t have anyway.
