E330 without homebase

Hi guys, I just bought an E330 camera to integrate it in my own CCTV setup. I now understand, that you officially need to connect it to a HomeBase. Is there a way to get it working without a HomeBase and to acces i’s RTSP stream?

Hi, eufy cameras can be connected to NAS via RTSP, but can not be connected to other security systems.

I do understand that. The question is, if I can conduct the setup process for the E330 without any Homebase present or is a Homebase a MUST prerequisite for the E330 to be configurable?

Let me double confirm, do you have a eufy camera E330, and you don’t have a Homebase3?

Hyes

yes. But I still want to access the RTSP stream

You can connect via rtsp stream but you need to install opensource software that needs to run on server/mini pc

That is no problem. Which software do you have in mind?

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We understand that you wish to connect the E330 Camera to a third-party CCTV system. Unfortunately, we regret to inform you that it currently does not support integration with third-party systems. At present, it only supports connection to the HB3. However, once connected to the HB3 and upgraded to the latest firmware version, it can also be used as a standalone unit. We hope this information addresses your concerns.

Is there any way or tool which I can use to upgrade the firmware without an HB3? This can also be Expert tools or dedicated P2P commands to issue. I will manage.

If I understand what you are doing… they can operate strictly via your wifi network without HB3 at all. That is my current configuration and it works fairly well.

was there any issue setting this up without HB3? Or can I simply configure it with the App alone?

Homebase is awesome you should get homebase 3

No it’s a pretty smooth process. I bought my cameras alone. Haven’t even bought a homebase yet and my cams are great. It will guide you through the process and, in my case, that’s all I needed.
Still considering HB3, but other expenses are in the way at the moment. I’ll get there.

How did you do it?
I finally got the E330 pro cam now and tried to add it with the eufy-App. It tells me to add a Homebase first - which I do not have. Any workaround or alternative way?

Hmmm. That was not my experience. I just view through the app on my own wifi and that’s it. My first one was an S340 and it didn’t ask for anything else.

Yes. The S340 is a Solo-Cam, where “solo” indicates it can run (also) alone. The E330 cannot appearently.

I never realized that. :flushed: I think I need to be careful with future purchases-- and I think maybe Eufy could be a little more clear about that in the marketing of their products.

I just bought three of them… I haven’t got a HB3 yet but I have been running all my cameras of the eufy internet sight via WI fi…
They all been working fine? The only thing is without HB3 you 9nly have limited storage capacity.
With that being said I have not been able to get a chance to set my E330 yet as I had just gotten it in yesterday… but I just got most the rest of cameras set up on the eufy site that seems to be working fine…
Currently running…
Ring doorbell I believe E2&HB2. Or 2E. 2 S40’s and one S220 all but the door bell work with hb3 but are all intergraded and work fine on the EUFY network…

Oh say the cameras I just bought were E220’s not E3’s… sorry… got for just over 30 bucks on ebay so WY not…
