When I enable the Pre-Record feature, my electronic chime makes a clicking noise from the speaker for about 10 seconds then I get a message that Pre-Record was disable due to voltage issues. I have upgraded to a 16v 30Va transformer, thinking it was the problem, but the issue persists. It works great otherwise, I just would like to have the pre-record feature. Any ideas what to try?
I’m not 100% certain but I think you have to use the eufy chime. Someone else online said they were having a similar problem and Eufy told them to use their branded chime.
Just double check your chime settings in the app… I know there was an option when you set it up it asks you mechanical chime or electronic chime, make sure it’s on the correct one.
The wired electronic chime works fine. I just can’t enable pre-record.
Okay but, did you check to make sure the setting is on electronic chime? If it’s on mechanical it will send more voltage/current to the chime because it’s needed to activate the plungers whereas the electronic chime doesn’t need as much voltage.
Pre-roll may be shutting down due to the more power it’s sending to the chime.
Also check the wire connections on the rear of the doorbell and the chime make sure they’re tight.
The electronic chime is correctly set up. The wirong to the new transformer is correct. I was having the same problem with the old one, but it was 15v 10Va. When I enable pre-record it runs a voltage check which passes. It enables pre-record and starts making the clicking noise. It then disables pre-record and gives an error stating there is a problem with the voltage.
Maybe try a 24 volt transformer??
So, when you enable pre-roll your chime starts clicking and then the doorbell turns off pre-recorded because of a voltage problem.
For a test… try bypassing the chime, the install manual will tell you how to do it.
Then see if pre-recorded will stay active.
