So I have had 3 replacements now.
My camera is hardwired but the battery will run down to 49% then switch from powered to battery then it charges back to 100% then repeats but states on battery. This turned off 24/7 recording so is a pain as I want that on the device. I have already turned off HomeKit as it delays the live feed to my e10 monitor. Checked wiring and on official eufy usbc on different wattage chargers up to 20watt at some point. The same wiring works on the #S220 SoloCam no problem and stays at 100%
Reading your last sentence, the same wiring works
Does that mean that you swapped out the USBC charging cables between the two cameras and the problem still persists with that same camera?
Yeah was the same before I got the display, that’s been 3 cameras in a month and a half and also powered it from the Homebase 3 with its own usb but strangely does the same.
I think I am about to give up and just use/get another s220 for the front too.
That’s weird, that it switches to battery power when it starts charging the battery while you have it powered by a USB adapter permanently.
Either there’s a glitch in the app you have or the cameras firmware? But since you’re on your third replacement camera it may be the app?
In power manager if you switch it to battery while the camera is in 24/7 recording, does the 24/7 recording stop?
Ah was just posting the same and found your post - yes.
EufyCam E40 direct power stays at 100% charge for a few hours then stops charging and drains.
This is also a replacement unit - though for a different issue due to excessive battery drain on external solar panel. Expected direct power option to just resolve, but simply uncovers the next issue.
Obviously a wider issue going on that needs resolving. Tried with a 3amp Anker power plug and an 80W Oppo with same behaviour, so the camera is common here.
Given that it can start charging again, sounds software related.
I can get it to start charging again by unplugging and replugging the power source without touching the camera. Going to pester support but will temporarily put on a smart plug to switch off and on every 12 hours until resolved.
