eufy doorbell cam keeps dropping offline

my t8210 eufy doorbell cam worked great for over a year. then, a few months ago, it started dropping offline randomly. nothing changed with my wifi, the battery is good. it does come back online, but it might be days after it dropped off. is the unit just bad, or is there anything else i can try?

Have you added any new Wi-Fi devices recently or placed something in your home that could be blocking / decreasing the Wi-Fi signal to the doorbell?

no, nothing new added that might affect the wifi signal. even if something interfered with it now and then, it wouldn’t explain it being offline for days, then coming back online for hours or days.

Hmmm  okay, just want to confirm it’s losing a Wi-Fi signal _ offline_ or is it powering off? Turn off?

Post a screenshot of the apps homepage showing the doorbell.

If you can, temporarily move the HomeBase closer to the doorbell cam for a few days to see if it happens again.

Or, you could try to resync the doorbell to the HomeBase. That would involve removing the doorbell from the app - deleting it and then re-added back to the app.

thx!

the homebase is probably only 20 feet from the doorbell, can’t think of anything that might’ve changed in between. the homebase itself is 3 feet from the wifi.

The HomeBase is 20 ft from the doorbell, that’s nothing, I can’t see anything interfering with the Wi-Fi connection between the two.
I guess tapping on the refresh circle doesn’t help?
Has it been extremely cold? Below -20°C/-4°F cam will go offline or shut down.
When it does have a Wi-Fi connection to the HB what does the signal strength display?

this started back when the weather was hot, so not cold related. wifi ‘meter’ looks to be 100% (attached).

I think i’ve tried the refresh, but i will try it again when it drops offline again.

have you tried unplugging the home base for a few minutes then plug it back in? Not just restarting it

:grinning:

so, i gave up and purchased a new one, exact same model, and it’s been 100% for like a month now.
got to be something wrong with the other unit. i’ll try to factory reset it and see if that helps.

thanks all for the good ideas!
