Eufy Doorbell E340 Nightvision Settings Are Silly

Has anyone else noticed that Eufy’s settings for night vision on the E340 doorbell are pretty silly…

You have the option of colour night vision which means no infrared at all and only the light at the top and bottom come on giving colour footage during the night which is okay but the brightness doesn’t go bright enough to really provide quality footage during the night.

Then you have Optimal Infrared Night Vision which will turn on the infrared lights and also the bottom white light to illuminate the ground but provide black and white footage for events. This is the best option as the third option is dumb.

The third option which makes no sense whatsoever is turn everything off… no colour night vision using the white LED lights and no night vision with infrared. WHY? Surely this option should be turn off colour LEDs and only use infrared for purely black and white footage.

Eufy needs to add switch off colour LEDs and use infrared only.

I believe it all depends on the situation ~ the environment that it’s used in.
I don’t use night vision with my cameras as I have adequate outdoor lighting during the evenings for it to record in color.

Option color night vision: top and bottom LED lights illuminate though not bright enough a good color recording. Yes, I could see that occurring trying to distinguish something at a distance. Would probably work better in an enclosed space like a porch where the light can reflect.

Optimal infrared night vision: I think the bottom white lights are just a courtesy light. When approaching the door. There might be an option to turn them off.

The third option?? IDK

Thank you for your reply it is much appreciated. I think they need to add the option of just infrared because switching all lights off seems like a silly choice and I’m not sure many people would find this useful.
