Three days left in April(according to their website) for Eufy to provide the software we require after how many months?
Of course but when do purchasers stop asking and begin demanding some clarity on when the required software will actually become available for the device for which we have paid for?
I hope it’s not the Video Doorbell Duals firmware that is the problem here. How could one update the device firmware if the device can’t even be initialized?
Starting from zero I got a HB3 in the set with to S330 cameras and bought the Video Doorbell Dual Additional Unit to use it with the HB3. Why waste money on another complete set with HB2 if there is a HB3 already… that’s what I thought.
So now there is no HB2 available here. How could I update the Doorbells firmware if such an update would be needed before it can be connected.
Also, I guess the issue is not with the Doorbell firmware because the App does already refuse to connect it with HB3 right after scanning the QR sticker. At this point the App has no idea which fw is running on the Doorbell. There must be some kind of compatibility matrix stored in the App or in the HB3 that tells which devices can be connected to a home’s system.
There will be an update on the app and HB3 which will inevitably unlock the ability to sync the dual doorbell with the Homebase. After initial set up, it will update to the latest firmware for it. That’s how I see it based on previous syncing of devices.
Yup, that - the HB3 will need to be able to see/talk to the doorbell, and the challenge is probably also there will be some (like the other posters) that have been “unused” for a while and on various versions - so they will need to be able to talk to those.
Once the bell upgrades, THAT firmware also needs to support HB2s,for those staying on HB2s.
** The battery-powered dual video doorbell will be compatible within these two weeks, and we are doing updating tests now. If there is no other issue occurring, the new firmware will be released within the next week.*
Mine updated yesterday (iOS, in the UK) so my HB3 is updated, can anyone confirm this needing a second firmware on the actual doorbell? Some of these responses I’m seeing say you need to wait for the doorbell to update also but that makes no sense and there has been no mention of a firmware update for the doorbell? Someone on another thread said that until the doorbell updates the HB3 won’t see it however that means that if you bought it on it’s own to go with the HB3 camera pack then you won’t be able to update it without a HB2, that’s insane. Surely adding support to HB3 you should be able to at least register it so the HB3 can update it?
I’m screwed too. Bought the S330 camera bundle with HB3. Thought I just buy the add on camera based on their schedule. Now I have a mounted paper weight on my front door. What the actual flub?
I chatted with an agent at Eufy a few hours ago. He confirmed the update will be released in the next two days (not two weeks). He said it’s under its final beta tests. Hopefully, his news is accurate!
As long as the firmware and APP version of the device allow it, the steps to connect the doorbell to homebase3 and homebase2 are the same.
We reconfirmed for you again, the firmware that allows homebase3 and doorbell to connect is still under testing, and it is not stable yet, so it has not been promoted to all customers, please wait patiently, sorry for the inconvenience.
My firmware on HB3 has been updated a while now (3 days) and the compatibility list has been updated to “Available” yet I’m still not able to pair the doorbell to HB3, this is extremely shoddy on the part of Eufy. Has ANYONE had any success pairing them???
