Eufy E20 – Gimbal becomes unresponsive after ~24h (requires reboot)

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a persistent issue with my Eufy E20 baby monitor and wanted to check if others are seeing the same behavior.

The gimbal (pan/tilt) becomes completely unresponsive after about 24 hours of normal operation.

When this happens:

  • The camera remains online
  • Live video continues to work normally
  • However, the gimbal cannot be controlled at all
  • No response from:
    • Mobile app
    • Monitor unit
  • Calibration also does not work

The only way to recover is to reboot the camera. After reboot, everything works again, but the issue reoccurs later.

Additional details:

  • Camera is always connected to stable power
  • Gimbal is rarely used
  • No physical obstruction
  • Issue is reproducible (~24h uptime)
  • Firmware is up to date 2.2.3.7

Troubleshooting already done:

  • Reboot (temporary fix only)
  • Re-pairing the device

None of these resolved the issue.

Main concern is the gimbal becoming unusable until reboot.

Has anyone else experienced this with the E20 or similar models?
Is this a known firmware issue, or should I consider requesting a replacement?

Yes, this has been reported on some E20 units. Since reboot only temporarily fixes it and firmware is current, I’d treat it as a bug and contact eufy for a replacement or engineering review
