Eufy Floodlight Camera - Lights Flickering By Themselves

I have a Eufy Floodlight Camera which recently started flickering at nighttime. There’s no way to stop it unless I either switch the mains off or turn the camera off via the app. The motion sensor isn’t triggered while it’s flickering, and if it does get triggered the light comes on as expected but then starts flickering again when it should switch off.

I have contacted Eufy but as the camera was bought in 2020 and now out of warranty, they said there is not much they can do with this unit. It’s dissapointing as I wouldn’t think I’d have an issue like this in just 2 years of owning this.

Has anyone else started getting this as well?

In the security settings do you have it set on a schedule mode? If you do delete that schedule and just use the cameras settings for the lights to turn on when motion is detected only.
I recall reading a while back that, that may be the issue.
Also… Turn off Light Alarm if the above doesn’t work.

@jd164
Thanks for your reply… I’ve just checked and the floodlight is not in Schedule Mode, it’s currently on Home Mode.

Where do I find the settings to check whether Light Alarm is selected or not please?

You would find that in the Home mode settings and in the Away also.

Do you have any options engaged in the Light Settings?
Some flood lights have an Ambient Light setting, which Auto turns on floodlights from sunset to sunrise, like a dusk to dawn setting, turning that on and setting the light brightness to minimum might just stop it from flickering. Though the light would be on all the time during the evening’s.

Ah, found it! The Camera Alarm setting was disabled under Home, but enabled under Away so I’ve disabled it on there as well.

I’ll check it again when I can and let you know how it goes

Ambient Light is disabled as I dont want it constantly on during the evenings.

Thank you for these suggestions, very much appreciated!

No problem, don’t mind trying to help you out.
Unfortunately other users with the floodlight encountered this problem also, and there was no definite fix, unless you were still under warranty and got a replacement.
So, I had mentioned the ambient light setting… I know you don’t want the light on constantly during the evening, but this might be a workaround to not having the light flickering? I know you can adjust the ambient lighting brightness, is the lowest setting too bright? And once it detects motion full lighting is engaged.

Hi,

I tried setting the ambient light and I set it to the lowest setting, but unfortunately even with the lowest light setting, it is too bright especially if it is going to be constantly on all night.

If others also started experiencing this around the same time, doesn’t this sound like a show stopping bug being introduced into an update?
