eufy Security Solo IndoorCam E220 failing to pick up sound
My camera is not picking up sound. I’ve tried the following:-
1)Switch device on and off.
2)Update firmware.
3)Restart Homebase.
4)Check volume settings on two different iPhones and iPads
5)Microphone, audio and speaker are all on.
Hey, sounds like you’ve already done most of the right troubleshooting steps. Since your other cameras are working fine and it’s just the Solo IndoorCam E220 having the issue, it’s likely specific to that unit.
All that would be left would be to restore the camera to factory settings and re-add it.
Just press and hold the Sync button on the camera for about 10 seconds until you hear a beep or see the LED flash. That’ll reset it and you can set it up again in the app like it’s brand new. Sometimes that clears up weird bugs like this.
I have the same issues with the E220 and the C120. I had installed several of those at my house without an issue. Because of that, I purchased the first set of five cameras (four E220 and once C1200) in September 2020 to help monitoring my parents’ home. About a year later the cameras at my parent’s home started to lose the capability to hear sounds. Eufy customer service support gave me some troubleshooting recommendations. My sister got to my parents’ home to troubleshoot the cameras one-week later. The troubleshooting did not work. When I contacted Eufy again, to inform them of the troubleshooting results, I was told that they could not do anything because the warranty was expired (between my first and second call to them).
They did assure me that there was no know problems with the models and that it was probably weird issue. Since I did have some of those models at my home and they were working, I decided to replace the ones at my parents’ home and order additional cameras for their homes; at total of 12 cameras for them in November 2022. Almost 18 months later one by one the cameras at my parent’s home lost their sound. However, only one of the E220 cameras that I have a home and one of the C120 lost the sound.
Today I contacted Eufy’s customer service department and was told that there are no know issues regarding the sound for the E220 and the C120 models. He constantly reminded me that the warranty was expired. I reminded him that it was not my intention to get the cameras replaced but to know if there were any issues with the camera sounds so I could replace them with other models. He assured me that there were no known problems with the sounds on those models. Reddit shows a lot of comments regarding this issue and they also posted this alleged response from Eufy customer service support:
