I was setting up the cameras but didnt detect anything until about 4 meters. Seems height and angle are key for detection to work better. Ive reduced the height to about 7ft and slight angle. My question is what should my camera be focused on, as what i see isnt what will be detected.
So should i raise the camera with the area of focus in the lower part of the cam ? I did read something about positioning left to right.
It’s good to hear that you started tweaking the position and got better results. Unlike many others who just start complaining.
So yeah, the lower part of the view you see is where the PIR sensor does its motion detection. So you’re best off pointing the lower part of the view in the direction you want to monitor.
As for horizontal movement, the PIR sensor is then better able to detect heat changes in the air like from a human body.
If the person is moving directly towards the camera, chances are the motion is not correctly detected by the sensor.
