Feeling a bit r@ped by Eufy :/

So! I’ve been tethering one of my new 4K cameras which is at the front of my property, with a solar panel that sits out the back of the house. Reason being is that there’s hardly any direct sunlight during the winter month so I thought I’d rig up a solar panel to take the sting out of having to charge the camera manually.

So I bought a solar panel, but also had to buy a couple of 3M long USBC cables (make to female) and tether these up so the solar panel could actually reach the 90M length from solar panel to camera.

Now I’m going to assume that there may be some delay in the transferring of the power from the actual solar panel itself, through the 90M long cable and then to the camera. But I do seem to be having this problem that the camera doesn’t charge when the suns out and the solar panel should be working. Has anyone encountered such a problem?

And then! To make sure that the cable end that connects to the camera is weather proof, I contacted Eufy about the little USBC plastic sleeve they show in their help sections. So I contacted them asking if they sold them, and they did. But what I didn’t expect, is to get a single item only! And for £7.99 I can clearly say I’ve been r@ped hard by Eufy

Has anyone come across anything similar online that wouldn’t cost me £7.99? I just couldn’t find anything like it in the UK.

That price for the plastic sleeve is high it’s almost $10.00 USD. To me it looks like a £2.50 item. If shipping was included in that price it’s not so bad, shipping costs have risen.
I don’t have the solar panel but looking at a product you think it would have included that item?

Now I’m going to assume that there may be some delay in the transferring of the power from the actual solar panel itself, through the 90M long cable and then to the camera.

That length is way too long, yes you might have 5 volts going into the camera but, the 500 mAh that the solar panel puts out to charge the battery at a certain rate will be drastically reduced because of cable length X resistance.
Eufy recommends a certain length.

But I do seem to be having this problem that the camera doesn’t charge.

Make sure you have Power Manager set for solar charging.

if your cable is 26gauge , it is .34 ohm/m. for 90meter. you are looking at 27ohms resistance. you wonzt get require voltage to charge or to run.
