I have the wire

I have the wireless solo camera S340 and it is mounted onto my eaves trough. It seems to be too low and the solar panel doesn’t get much sun in the winter months with it being cloudy and low laying. I have to get my ladder out and take it down to recharge it as the solar panel doesn’t seem to stay charged beyond a month if even that. Any ideas how to mount it higher?

You are correct we have moved the solar camera many times its on the roof and still winter months it does not charge only 17% at most battery level everyday.

Contact Eufy about it. I have seen solar panel extensions. May be wrong. Worth a look

Oh good idea, Thank you.

That is not what I signed up for lol. Crawling up on a 14’ ladder, in the snow, in -23’ weather with a windchill of -30’ temps, at my age!!

It came with a extension wire. Attach the solar panel to a gutter hook with peice it came with. Need to pre drill couple holes

If you have access to a direct power source then you could consider the eufy outdoor extension cable… this would allow you to have continuous power…. But it would be worth checking with eufy whether that works for your camera model

Still monitoring mine as I got it in the winter months though not any charge from the sun yet but will see how it performs in summer to be sure the solar is not a scam

I switched from another brand that had solar cameras that would never get recharged & it was such a hassle to get a 10’ ladder to fix. I was VERY skeptical about the 340 solar, yet I have never had to plug in after my initial charge pre-installation.
I actually plugged the USB extension cable to the back and had it dangling down so that I could plug it in w/o climbing up, and realized after a month I could take it down b/c never needed it.
When you say it’s not getting enough light to power the solar battery, do you have it mounted to the camera, or on a cord & mounted separately? Maybe an adjustment to the angle or location of the panel would catch more light? My parents are in Anchorage and theirs gets enough light to keep charged.

I had a problem with my solar panel not charging my S340 fast enough, and I bought this and it doesn’t work at all…

Oops

Maybe try a larger solar panel with more surface area?

Did you use the long cable so you can mount it away from the camera? I had to do that and mounted it to my roof, no snow here.

Sure did! But the solar panel keeps crapping out on me

Including photos. Tree is north. This is a rental so I can’t start drilling into his vinyl siding, etc. I don’t have power at this end of place. Any suggestions how to get solar panel higher?

It appears to be mounted as high as it possibly can be… I agree with @Daddy79. Contact @eufy-official. Maybe there’s something wrong with the camera itself. How long have you had it and did you charge it completely before installing?

Also, if you do not have power accessible in that area to keep it plugged in, check the wattage of the solar panel. The one I bought for my eufy Security eufyCam S330 which is the eufy brand (eufyCam Solar Panel) is only 2.6W. They make more powerful ones.

This one has a whopping 7W compared to the one that probably came with the cam. However, the one I purchased from eufy has worked fine for me.

They sent me this week, a replacement solar panel as the one I purchased had a small spot of de-lamination on the edge which I have to return to them. I just purchased my entire system in August. I fully charge them before climbing up that tall ladder to install.
I had no idea about any option for the solar panel and more wattage! I ordered these from Amazon and didn’t even know one could order direct from the company either. I don’t see any option for more wattage on their site either. Where did you discover this? Here is a photo of the one I’m replacing. Looks like output is 5 V. I just installed the replacement yesterday so I’ll see how long this new one lasts. I’ll also check the V the next time up on the ladder.
